Introduction

Much effort has been put into reestablishing the scarred wild wolf populations in the Western United States after mass killings were done by livestock owners to eradicate these “nuisances”.  There are currently a total of five resident packs in Washington which have gradually found their way to the middle of the state. Commissioners in Okanogan County approved a resolution petitioning that the Department of Fish and Wildlife should remove gray wolves from the endangered list. The resolution asserts that wolves are not, in fact, a native species that decades ago was hunted and trapped out of existence, and calls to reclassify them as "deleterious exotic wildlife."  (Wolf management)
Endangered animal populations like the gray wolves are suffering tremendously due to mainly human interferences. Animals are subject to the consequences of our own actions. Many have seen the affect that deforestation, hunting/poaching and other human interferences have had on the population of animals. The problem is that more things need to be done to reverse the ill effect we have on animals and the environment in general. Many can agree that human actions are causing the endangerment of animals it is more important to understand what can be done to change it.

Topic for Analytical Essay

Many species of animals are endangered and nearing extinction in the wild. Populations are shrinking and dying out completely.

I’m going to examine and identify the many different reasons for the depletion of animal populations. These include habitat destruction, global warming, pollution, poaching etc. I will also answer why certain animals are subject to this type of effect and what the human population can do or change or reverse this.

Title: “Extinction”

“What types of animals are reaching extinction?” “What kinds of things are causing this?” “Are humans mostly to blame, or the environment?” “What can we do to reverse the process?”
